One of the best bands. There is.of my generation. Spot on. Mr Weller
YESSS, thats what i call entertianment!!!
tiene un parecido con la canción de los fabulosos Cadillacs:el número 2 en tu lista
now this is the shit
Down in a tube station at midnight, yet another top tune
my fave jam song by a distance
"Two lovers kissing amongst the scream of midnight, two lovers missing the tranquillity of solitude" I really love that line. There are far too few songs that go into the banal side of relationships.
This song will never be matched. The lyrics are unique; like this band.Thank you Paul for sharing this with us all.
Was 15 when this was out. Played it nearly every day of my life since. Written in a caravan, pissed, in about 4 mins I recall 👍
Quero aprender a tocar violão assim!
# 1 in the US singles chart 1980
beautiful track, doesn't age at all.
This Song is a total rip off of So Sad About us by The Who! The Who gave the jam a career, All the jam ever did was copy The Who and try to be like the Who.
pure FUCKING CLASS
camisa de venus ..so pra passar tempo..Take a Look
#ThatsEntertainment - American style! twitter.com/apollowatiNEWS/status/887000407066783744

everyone chill, enjoy life and chillax as my dead friend would say.👍
Why is this not in the argument for the best song ever?
the Jam - none better
Their best track in my opinion, excellent!
The Jam were always my go to for post punk entertainment <3 🤘🤘👌👌✌️
That's poetry! Beautiful.
kickin' goals my lovlies!
One of my first purchases from Sam The Record Man. Remember seeing this video on Much Music and immediately being captivated by their sound.
"Two lover's missing the tranquility of solitude"People don't write line's like that anymore (why?)
Perfect social commentary for the summer of '81 in Britain if you were there.Lyrically,Paul Weller has never bettered this.Just magnificent.
A police car and a screamin siren Pneumatic drill and ripped-up concrete A baby wailing, a stray dog howling The screech of brakes and lamplight blinking That's entertainment That's entertainment A smash of glass and the rumble of boots An electric train and a ripped-up phone booth Paint-splattered walls and the cry of a tomcat Lights going out and a kick in the ballsI say that's entertainment That's entertainment La la la la la, ahLa la la la la, ahDays of speed and slow-time Monday's Pissing down with rain on a boring Wednesday Watching the news and not eating your teaA freezing cold flat with damp on the walls I say that's entertainment That's entertainment La la la la laLa la la la laWaking up at 6 A.M. on a cool warm morning Opening the windows and breathing in petrolAn amateur band rehearsing in a nearby yardWatching the telly and thinking 'bout your holidays That's entertainment That's entertainment La la la la la, ahLa la la la la, ahLa la la la la, ahLa la la la laWaking up from bad dreams and smoking cigarettes Cuddling a warm girl and smelling stale perfume A hot summers day and sticky black Tarmac Feeding ducks in the park and wishing you were far away That's entertainment That's entertainment 2 lovers kissing masks a scream of midnight 2 lovers missing the tranquility of solitude Getting a cab and travelling on busesReading the graffiti about slashed-seat affairs I say that's entertainment That's entertainment La la la la la, ahLa la la la la, ahLa la la la la, ahLa la la la laLa la la la la, ahLa la la la la, ahLa la la la la, ahLa la la la laLa la la la la, ahLa la la la la, ahLa la la la la, ah
Handsdown the most british song ever written idc what yall say!!
Absolutely Awesome love the Jam
Thats entertainment !
still just top music
...Not knowing this song existed until now is painful.
no bullshit lyrics
I think this is one of the best songs ever.
i say that's entertainment.................
This song sums up a 1970s childhood. And probably those who grew up in the generations before. It's ghostly now...somehow haunting.
Hardly ever hear a cover band play the Jam. Superb composition and rendition...
I love this song.
Paul Weller for me is one of the best lyricist of all time and I am thankful for the Jam for their contribution in Punk music. But isn't ironic that his lyrically best written song he ever made was after a drunken pub visit. I praise this pub as a holy place supporting one of the most inspirational songs for the British society.
Who's here to find Top Gear's S08E06 soundtrack (caravans)? :)
Fucking love this song and I love this band
I went to the same school as The Jam, a few years later mind.
"Little did he know..."
The Jam were pop, not punk ...
You can't fake honesty.
The Drummer did not have to work hard for this track! - great music, great band. The Jam
i fell asleep listenkng 2 this
I'm guessing you are USA. You have Seattle x
Brings me back to the Council flats, Hackney East London, dodging the NF, car fires, it goes on... Peter Weller captured it!
I if I was pick a song that represents England in the 70's, it would be thisIf I was to pick a song/songs that represents Scotland in the 70's it would be Boys of The Old Brigade and Billy Boys.Says it all
Doesn't get any better than this. Thank you very much.

Not only did they make some seriously talented music, they also looked the part, both of which are attributes which seem to have sadly evaporated. I was only about four when this came out but I remember my dad playing the vinyl album on the big old radiogram. The Jam are real entertainment........
The people that give this a thumbs down are the same people that would give Ciley Mirus or Paty Kerry a thumbs up.
acoustic punk !
loved the times
Fire and Skill. Simply the best. Anti-Complacency League NOW BABY!!!
thank you Weller for the greatest band ever, fire and skill
What a tune I've always loved the jam with passion if my parents never got me into the jam I would be lost
This song feels like Ottawa, the city that fun forgot.
Anyone have a drum tutorial for this song? Lmk.
This was when I was young!
how to play bass
We are the Mods :)
I'm not gonna lie I'm young, 14 to be exact but this stuff is awesome I just bought one of their albums setting sons from a local record fair in the town hall for a tenner without hearing any of their songs but have heard of them my favourites so far is girl on the phone and child soldiers.
D string on Paul's guitar vanishes at 1:02.... Great tune though can't fault that.
best Jam tune peeps, u know it makes sense 💋💋💋
great song i always think of this on the way back from the job center
The version on the "Snap" album is far superior to this.
He was a fucking nuisance politically but he did write some great music!
people saying this is 70s London seems about right! I feel it represents british life altogether!
defo in my top 5 of all time!!
I'm here b/c of Irvine W books (glue)
Is just hard to understand when you mention Paul Weller , people usually say, WHO
Listen the version by Los Fabulosos Cadillacs named " N°2 en tu lista" (Spanish )
Que parecida a segundo en tu lista de Fabulosos Cadillacs
At a Time when Music was just pure Class!
fucking excellent !! Weller is almost poetic. A brilliant piece of social commentary.
that s so annoying
one of my favourite bands.
It doesn't get any better than this.
Thats The Business!!
playing 45s and dreaming the dream
it sure is .........
I have had the pleasure of seeing him 5 times live as a solo artist & 5 times as a combo outfit The Jam...Great times & the memories will remain with me for ever...X :)
