      This depends on what this is! A bechamel sauce may work, but I did not try it, and cannot be sure. You can use butter! tomato paste, sun dried tomato paste, lots of options. white sauce can mean a lot of things! :)

    1st- I have to try this! Seems like heaven!
    2nd- I loved the "How to Make Homemade Extracts" and I was wondering, can u make flavors like strawberry, raspberry, mango and other fruits like this? This would be amazing for when the fruits aren't avaliabble (because of the season) but you still want a bit of that flavor in something... I think.
    3rd- I love every single video I saw, they're nice to watch and the recipes are so well explained that they seem easy!

      Hi there, the problem with orange is that a lot of the flavor is in the zest, and juice freezes like ice/water. It is difficult to include this without churning. When churned it makes a lovely sorbet. Popsicles are perfectly possible with orange. Do check out the recipes here ( :)

      Hi there, I think this may have been a proofing problem, the dough should not be hard, it has a soft finish. Browning is a matter of baking for long enough. If this was your first time to bake bread, then well done! it is a learning curve. Next time allow the dough to proof for longer, do not over wet it, and proceed. Many other bold bakers are doing really well with this! Take alook back at the recipe here ( it is worth another try! :)

    hi Gemma.. ive been following ur crazy dough recepies n they are awesome.. uve made my life so easy and a super mom for my kids.. have 2 questions.. 1. why do we hv to poof the dough in some recipes and not for some?? 2. wats the best way to store the dough in the fridge.. i cover with cling flim and seal it over with the air tight lid.. but wen opened water forms on top of the cling flim.. i feel the dough has then flattened

      In all of my recipes you do proof. do you mean like the naan? because that is a flat bread and the pretzels are bolted which is like 'proofing' them.

      So yes highly with cling wrap is perfect. It sounds like there might be something with the settings in your fridge as there really should be water on the cling wrap and for sure you don't want that in your dough :)

      The freezer, in individual plastic bags, then you can pop them right in, and they will defrost before lunch time! (quickly). :)

      Yes! this will be good too, you can really be inventive with this one. You can add any cooked meats, but not raw, as it would not have time to cook :)

      Hi Richard, I will need to think about this! If you add water/liquid to an ice cream you really need to churn it, to suspend the ice crystals. What we would need to do is to distill the flavor/essence, it would be like a science experiment. They would work well in popsicles :)

      ( here it is! You can choose roast veg/roast mushrooms/herbs/spices with cooked veg. It will need to be cooked as there is not sufficient time in the oven to cook raw veg/meats :)

      Thank you so much Ms. Gemma!!! I now live about 30-45 minutes away from San Francisco bay area in Hayward (due to rent prices skyrocketing), but my mother's from Germany and father's from Philippines. So I thought, I'd make her something and I've purchased some wheat flour and thought maybe I could try to substitute, but I feel that wheat dough can taste a bit drier compared to all purpose flour...or maybe the way I cook because I'm really not an expert; I just learn as I go along. Thank you for your recommendation! Maybe I can find Hovis Strong Brown Flour at World Market or order on Amazon.

      Ah! that is too bad. ( this is a traditional Irish recipe. Many of the yeast recipes can also be use with whole wheat flour, and there are strong whole wheat flours developed for this purpose. I cannot tell where you come from, but in the UK there is a superb Hovis Strong Brown flour, which my Mum used, until she could no longer find it in Ireland. There are some techniques for using this, such as sponging the dough, it would be worth learning this! I will take a look at doing this at some point :)

    Oh, it looks beautiful.I love making bread and tear and share. I think I would add a lot of cheese. I use a springform when I make a tear and share bread, a bit easier to get it out. LOVELY recipe.

      Good tip with the springform Petra, I do this too. Yes, load it up, it will not refuse! Use cooked (roasted) veg too, spices, make these breads your own! :)

      Hi there, you can use vegetarian options, roast sweet peppers/onions with some of your wonderful spices/olives/sundried tomato/ pepperoni/chorizo etc. Any meat added must be pre-cooked. Do not add a meat which will not add flavor! :)

    Hi Gemma, I was wondering if it is possible to "bake" things like cinnamon rolls in a slow cooker/pressure cooker. I don't have an oven and I really miss "baking" my own treats :)

      The combination of a slow cooker and a broiler will allow you yo bake yeast bread. The time will depend on your particular cooker. Getting the internal temperature to around 190C and upwards will be the challenge, as then you will know the bread is actually cooked, it will not really brown. Line your cooker with parchment/baking paper, pre-heat to highest setting, no need to second proof it, then pop it in. Check it after an hour or so, it may take longer. A thermometer will help you determine if it is baked through. You can pop it under the broiler to brown it, or just leave it as it is. This will be a learning curve for you, but it is really worth the trouble :)
