    Just made this sandwich. It's amazing. I used provolone instead of gruyere and it was still delicious. My little piece of advice is to not be afraid to load your sandwich up with the bechamel. It was my first time making one, so I was a little conservative with how much I put on there.

    so um...i tried making this and...
    - my rue was chunky and gross
    - I had no bread so I used a bagel
    -I burned the bagel
    - The egg was burned to a crisp in the pan
    - that pan was on high for a long time
    -in the end only the bacon was edible
    -also there is smoke everywhere and it smells horrible

      Wubba Lubba Dub Dub try cooking the eggs on a medium/medium-low heat, so that way it doesn't scorch while you do other things. Also, put a little butter or spray on the pan to keep from it sticking to the pan.
