China has been taking economic measures against South Korea seen as retaliation for Seoul's deployment of the THAAD missile defense system.
But data show bilateral trade between Korea and China has actually increased for six consecutive months.
According to the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, Korea's exports to China, its number one trading partner, increased between November and April.
The growth was led by memory chips, oil products and machinery.
Over the same six-month period, Chinese imports to Korea also increased.
KOTRA says the reasons for the increase in trade include an economic recovery in China, rising oil prices, a boom in the semiconductor industry and a base effect from 2016.
