This makes me appreciate the endless hours of trial and error in a very complex, difficult and fascinating discipline - rocket science..just years after these tests, US and Russia were landing on other planets and touring the outer solar system...pretty amazing.

Awesome compilation of video, but why the depressing music? These are basically just experiments that didn't go as planned (with the exception of the challenger, of course, and that part of this video shouldn't have any music at all. It should just be a moment of silence for those that lost their lives.)

    • Russ H.

All those tax dollars up in smoke. Nassholes as george Carlin would say.

    • DubstepGamer758
      DubstepGamer758 Month ago

They weren't fucking useless. The V2 was basically the first rocket to go long distance made by the nazis to attempt to bomb other nations. Without those failures. Nothing would be in space right now. All the other failure were caused by something else that the engineers and scientist spaced while making the rocket. Then when the rocket failed, they figured out what went wrong, improved upon the design, and got the thing into space. tl;dr rocket fails arent useless because you can learn from mistake. Fuck off.

    • hdog505
      hdog505 Month ago

All these missions are worthless except to the aerospace companies, of course that's that's the whole point. You'll never understand this but big business runs governments.

    • DubstepGamer758
      DubstepGamer758 Month ago

Nothing is perfect. Billions of tax dollars actually succeeded (as in the rocket actually got to space) but sometimes people fuck up. Deal with it.

I wish there was more info about each failure. America televised every launch whether it succeeded or not, where as Russia only showed films of successes and covered up the deaths of it's cosmonauts. BTW: Who launched the Camara rockets?

    • Fabio Baccaglioni
      Fabio Baccaglioni  4 months ago

not Russia, the former Soviet Union where nobody cares about failure but success. There's only a few minor footage from them, in not very good condition as you can see in a few clips in this video.

I hope, from the bottom of my heart that the James Webb telescope achieves its outer most orbit without any problems. From what I've read and seen on You Tube, it will take at least a month for the Webb Telescope to fully deploy after it reaches its orbit far from our Moon's distant location. There are so many variables that could effect the Webb telescope, that I hope NASA and the rest of our contributing neighbors take as much time to complete this special mission. Even if it means they must postpone the mission as much as necessary to achieve a successful mission. We've spent so much money on the James Webb telescope (btw, Webb was the first administrator of NASA) that it is worth every moment of delay for the benefit of safety and perfection. JMHO DPA

Im sorry kiddos but we dont have a camera frozen in space recording every fucking rocket launch ever. Realize that not everything can be recorded.

      Your logic is like this...

You: Woah! What happened to your leg!
Me: I tripped and scraped it.
      You: Did you record it?
      Me: No... Why?
You: Ok then. Since you have no video proof that you tripped, it never happened.
      Me: Are you fucking serious?

      Fucking stop.
