my flying camera

  • Added:  2 months ago
  • First very short flight with my new DJI Mavic Pro. Not the smoothest aerial cinematography, but at least I got up and down in one piece. The aircraft was in beginner mode limiting speed, distance, and altitude. All camera settings were on "auto" and I did not use any filters. I initiated flight with the auto takeoff function which lifts the aircraft to a stable hover at 4'. I ascended to 10 meters and hovered for a short time to allow the down facing optical sensors to know exactly where home was. The aircraft landed autonomously with the "return to home" function (almost spot on!). The on board GPS was picking up 16 satellites. Return to home altitude was set at 20 meters. Video was shot in 4K and downscaled to 1080p before uploading. I first saw you & your place on a TV prog here in the UK, presented by a Mr B Fogle... good to find you here on YT ! I bet it's as hot as a pizza oven there at this time of year !?

Funny you should mention that. I just talked to the producer yesterday and they are coming back for a re-visit next month - just a one day shoot. Probably won't air on TV til the end of the year. I am hoping to convince Ben Fogle to appear in a video for my channel.

Howdy sir from another bachelor on the east coast. . . . .   Have subbed and am enjoying your videos. -     The rabbits have large ears but not quite "jacks" I am assuming?  Would cotton tails and jacks cross breed in the wild?      Thanks for posting and God bless!                            S. Although they are similar, a rabbit and a hare cannot cross breed. But they do dine together occasionally...

Hehe, it would be interesting to watch you follow a herd of wild steers or burros with it :)

And then, throw a pokeball! Nevermind...

Oh what a shame! You had to have gone to a lot of work and expense to make that dam... are you going to try to do another dam?

The dam washed away years ago...but a flight through the canyon is on the list.
