That Matthews goals looks accidental tbh
Hockey is boring. Tried watching two games; both boring; players fumbling the puck all the time; puck always going wildly out of control; players cant even control themselves and fall constantly. These highlights are far and few between and that's why hockey is boring and it should be shut down.
Matthews goal 👏🏻👏🏻
How is 480p acceptable by the NHL?
Such a goal as in Crozbi, the Russians scored another 20 or 25 years ago
No Laine goals??? C"mon NHL Jets get no love!
I love the pens
when everyone says mcdavid is the best thing ever to happen and he's not even on the top 10 goals
Was there for the Tavares goal, it was amazing 🤘
i knew they would pick crosby goal as number one, of course
Spurgeons goal was ranked too high or probably shouldnt have even been on the list. Also Matthews 2nd goal on his debut night where he dangles the whole sens team was waaay prettier then his falling down goal, would have put his falling goal where spurgeons is, and his debut night goal #2.
Granlund had an insane ot goal as well. Easily nicer than matthews' goal. Also mcdavid had a few nice ones that could've easily replaced it
This is coming from a blues fan. Jay Bouwmester is the worst defender ive seen. He's 19 in blue
Taylor Halls one handed move vs Philly should be on here
muito foda só golaço 😅
Sids goal is the best goal I've ever seen... So dirty..
Well, no surprise that the league wants Crosby to win everything
Well, try doing a one handed goal backhanded with 3 or more defensemen covering you at once (oh, and top shelf).Players said they couldn't even do it in practice while he did it in the middle of the game.
Where's Matthews 2nd goal in the NHL!?
Crosby tops the list... did bettman make this list 🤔
Forgot Taylor Hall undressing Steve Mason one handed
Notice how both goals against the blues are bouwmeester's fault.
No Pasternak OT goal. Against Florida.... ring a bell... should be at least no. 5 or 6 on this list
Crosby's goal could be #1 of the decade. The degree of difficulty to pull that off is hard to grasp
#7For a moment i thought that Datsyuk returns to Red Wings
Tavares' goal was better than crosby
Crosby's was good but #1?
Why tf is Crosbys goal number 1
Chase Wendolek he did a one handed too shelf backhander ,the next day the whole team tried that in practice not one could do it
the anthanasiou one should be in top 5, he went end to end and thats was way better and faster than any other goal
Matthews second goal against Ottawa is not on here for some reason but his goal against Carolina makes #2. Do you watch hockey?
No McDavid!!!??? Wow
how did gaudreau's wrap around not even get 10!?
Tavares goal: NHl 17 on rookie mode
Where is Gaudreau's goal
4 times penguins
Poor boulmeeser. Tavares and Arvidsson both deked him so hard
Wow, Crosby's one hand backhander takes some serious wrist strength. Impressive. #2 was lame though. It's not difficult at all to swipe a puck like that while falling down. The highest skill goals were #8, #5, and #1. In my opinion. Well, Tavares' goal was skilled too, seeing as he had to transfer hands midway through.
#8 was nasty. I've been doing that move since I was 16. Works almost every time. It is so uncommon that nobody expects it. Nice to see it utilized on the big stage. #5 too. That's a similar version of the same type of move. Those are roller hockey dangles being pulled off in the NHL... awesome!
Pens are in #9, #8, #7, AND #1. Plus, We got dem finals wrapped up. You just watch.
I love how many of them are scored on the penguins
2017 and 480p wow
best is Crosby 🖒
Christian Dvorak vs Capitals? Deserves to be somewhere between #10 and #7 in my eyes
How is Granlund's slaughter of the Kings starting 3v3 lineup not even on this list? He dangled $35 million in Kings salary and scored for the OT win. In 12 seconds.
how was that end-to-end goal by andreas anathiousou not in the top 5
I know I'm a little biased but Kane should be #2 behind Crosby. Made the deke and the far side snipe, while horizontal, with Pacioretty all over him. You won't see another goal like it.
Athenisiu's was the best I think
#2 was junk!!! jus a fluke u kidding meh?!!!
where is marners goal against florida????
What about Johnny hockey's rap around
What is the song in background?
Why is this only 480p
Im a Pittsburgh'er, and Crosbys goal deserves #1, but lets get one thing straight that i keep seeing; by no means did he split the defense, he just kinda skated up the ice, no one really pressured him. If you're gonna comment, know what your talking about.
While with 4 guys around in a fast moving game, you'd be sure to feel pressure.
What about Nathan Mackinnon's goal against the Caps
Some of these goals weren't really all that great compared to other great goals. Chris Conner made a one handed goal like Crosby did here in overtime to win way back in 2010. Look it up. The best was spurgeons imo, grabbing that out of midair and shooting it like that. Pretty cool
Qu'elle Belle gamètes il non vraiment pas lâcher Wow tellement contente d'hier soir😰
Wtf seriously?? No.8 should be in top 3 if not the best one!
Matthews goal shouldn't be on this list!
Like 6 of those were better than Crosby's goal
Matthews goal shouldn't have been on the list... Where is gaudreau's goal against the pens?
I think instead of Tavares' goal @ number 3 it should've been JVR's goal against PIT. Man literally batted in mid air over his head on the blue line and kept on side and sniped top shelf, it was something else.
Guy at the end sounded like he was holding his nostrils shut
Oh, and on Mathews goal the thing that was most impressive (and made it worthy of a high placing on this list) was the fact that he was able to actually stick handle with both feet in the air. Watch it closely and you'll see him touch the puck twice while twisting airborne and backhand it five hole. It wasn't a case of flying through the air and swinging his stick at the puck and putting it in (which would have still been a great goal, but not extra special).
I have watched and loved hockey for over 50 years and still play oldtimers...and i have never ever seen a one handed backhand top shelf goal in my life. Has anyone else ever seen one? I doubt it. So to anyone who says the goal was no big deal...stfu!
It really is annoying that if you are a big name and in a big hockey market, you'll automatically get your highlights bumped up to the top of the lists. All of the goals were nice, but the only reason #1 and #2 were even on the list was due to their household name recognition. If a second-liner scored either of those goals, it would be highlight of the night, but completely forgotten about the next day. You probably wouldn't even see it again until it showed up at like #80 in they next New Years "Top 100" countdown.
sachitrood All I was arguing was that it didn't deserve top spot. That's it. Not that it's a bad goal. It's only top spot because people naturally think a play made by a big name is better simply because the big name made the play. If Crosby scored any of the goals that were in this top ten, his would be number 1. It's just the way it is. As for your specifics: 1) I never said that not being touched makes every goal trivial. You falsely made that claim. I was responding SPECIFICALLY to Clorox Bleach claiming that the goal was good because it was 'coast to coast' and that Crosby went 'right through the defence'. If a team has a bad line change so a guy skates in on net all by himself and shoots it in, you wouldn't claim the goal was amazing because he "went coast to coast". It's only impressive if you actually have to beat some defenders before you score. In Crosby's goal, the defence was around, but only one guy made a play on him, and even he was late on his challenge. They just watched him skate in a straight line and shovel the puck into the top corner. That's my point. 2) You obviously didn't even bother to read my other posts if you ask this question. People don't shoot one-handed often because you can't shoot as hard or as accurately with one hand. Crosby's shot was hardly a rocket. He didn't score because his shot was so incredibly fast or accurate, he scored because it was unexpected. The other reason people don't do it much is because it's easy to mess up and you waste a scoring chance if you mess it up. So yes, it was gutsy to try it, but no, it wasn't the most amazing thing I've ever seen.3) As we have already established, Crosby DIDN'T have "4 players on his back", he had to shield from a loan guy because nobody else even made a play on him. Obviously, Crosby is going to be one of the best if not the best at doing this play. He's one of if not the best at doing a lot of plays. That doesn't make every play a play of the year candidate, though. He has one of the best backhands period. That doesn't make every backhand shot from Crosby a POTY candidate. Get this through your head. The play was unusual, but it was only called POTY because it was scored by Crosby. If some low profile player gets a one-handed shot to go, it wouldn't even make play of the week, let alone play of the year. So no, you didn't "roast" anyone but yourself. You simply displayed your poor reading comprehension, since I had already explained away most of your "points" in the previous comments.
IAMTHEJUGGERNATE So all three of your reasons are garbage.1. So what you are saying is that since no one touched him, it makes it not highlight worthy. By that matter, any goal scored, no matter how unreal they are, on all the teams with shitty defense, who don't touch players by the way as you stated, shouldn't be top 10 worthy whatsoever. Makes no sense to me. 2. If lots of people can shoot with one hand, then why don't they? they can catch the goalie off guard more than 50% of the time. Plus that puck went in the top corner while he was almost at full speed with one hand. I'm sure less than 50% of the NHLers can do that and I'm even more positive that less than 5% of them will score it on an NHL goalie in a game. 3. All he is saying is try to do what Sid did. I guarantee you that while skating that fast and having 4 players on your back trying to take the puck from you and, let's not forget him shielding the puck with one hand, you will not be able to score it, let alone lift the puck in the air. Sure many people can lift the puck in the air with one hand, but not many, or might I even say no one can do it like that. I will agree that some NHL players can pull the one handed wrister off but I will strongly disagree that they can do it in the same fashion as he did. The reason it is #1 is that no one else has ever seen a goal like that. Go ahead and interview actual NHL players and I assure that they would think you're stupid for even trying to argue this. So how about you use your mind and try to understand why this is a #1 goal and please try not to spread your non-logical thinking around as it will highly impact others and you will not stop getting roasted.
One-handed goals are not next to impossible. I have elevated one-handed shots when messing around in my garage, and I'm not a particularly good hockey player. I'm sure a majority of NHL players can flick a puck off the ice with one hand. Again, it's gutsy to try a one-handed shot in a game since you've wasted the opportunity if you don't surprise the goaltender. However, surprising a goalie isn't as impressive from a skill perspective as deking the pants off a defender and scoring on a good move. So while it's still a nice goal, it doesn't belong in the 'best 10 goals of the year' list, let alone in spot #1.
IAMTHEJUGGERNATE But one handed goals are next to impossible and why don't you try lifted a puck in your garage with one hand.
1. Nobody touched him on his 'coast to coast' skate so it's not highlight-worthy as if he pulled a move on somebody. 2. Lots of people can shoot with one hand. The reason you don't see it often is the same reason you don't see the shootout fake that Kucherov made this season very often: you have to bet that you'll catch the goalie off guard. If you do, it can go in; if you don't, you wasted the opportunity. Therefore, most people just don't take the risk since you normally only get a few quality scoring chances every game. 3. Are you seriously arguing that since I can't score a goal in the NHL like that, that I can't argue against it being in a top 10 list? By the same sentiment, you can't score any of the other goals that were left off this list, and therefore can't argue against them having the top two spots instead of the two lame ones they chose.
Hey NHL, how about a top 10 fights of 16'-17' video? Oh riiiiiiiight we don't do that anymore
Can you do players doing dabs please
What about the Dvorak goal where he narrowly got a pass from down the ice, barely stopped himself from going offsides, broke through the Washington defense, and took a wrist shot for the goal
I saw that victor Arvidson goal live on mushrooms...
Matthews goal should have been replaced with johnny hockeys...
that Crosby goal sucked and your talkin the Buffalo Sabres they suck as a team they got no one but Okposo who should have stayed in NY you got to fix that No. 1
Mega Don EX Tell me when you've skated coast to coast and go through the defence Idc if it's Buffalo's defence they're still better at defence than some bender like you and tell me when you've lifted the puck top corner with a one handed backhand goal.
Of course Crosby gets #1. It was a spectacular goal but Tavares' was WAAAAYYYYY more impressive. Get off your knees for Crosby, damn.
Овечкина здесь нет, потому что он на Олимпиаду поедет?!! ;)
Кросби красавчик однозначно
panik is 1st for me
That Spurgeon goal is unreal
John Tavares with is WTF stick hahaha what a goal man
How bout Devils goal vs Flyers like if you agree
I hate Crosby
Ben Best Good for you nobody cares
I would like crosby's goal more if he wasn't just given the entire middle of the ice to skate down
Bryan Hubbs Tell me when you've skated through an NHL TEAM's defence at least Buffalo's defence is better than you if they're in the NHL than they are good and tell me when you've lifted a puck into the top corner on a one hand backhanded goal.
But at least radulov had to beat a guy to score crosby just skated down the middle of the ice
Yea and radulov's goal would have been more impressive if hoffman could skate. My point is that great players create their own opportunities.
Matthews goal overrated
really no armia undressing two devils then sniping it?
No 8. Panik FTW
So what's the moral of the story? There are no NHL teams west of St. Louis apparently. Since between Johnny Gaudreau and Connor Mcdavid, you could come up with 20 goals that put these to shame.
Vaping Saves Lives Well none of those 20 goals could beat Crosby's admit it even if you hate Pittsburgh and Crosby you'll have to admit Mcjesus and Johnny Hockey couldn't do Crosby's goal.
So what's the moral of the story? There are
Mantha's goal vs the habs ?
Panik's goal deserved to be top 3
It's hard to admit this as a Ranger fan, but Crosby's goal of the back of Lundqvist was a better goal in my opinion.
Decent list, they were all "Beauties" in any order. Hell, you could make a Top 100 list and there'd still be people in the comments asking "Where's my favorite goal from my favorite player?" and hating Sid for being not only being #1 on the list and for winning the Rocket Richard Trophy this season with just 44 goals (SERIOUSLY! 44 frickin' goals was the highest this year!) but because it's always fashionable to hate the best player in the game when he's not playing on your team. 🏒🥅
1.) where is Faksa sliding the barrier?2.) why isn't Paniks goal in the first three goals?
How is it possible for NONE of the Pacific Division teams to have a single goal on this top ten? Especially when you have players like Brent Burns (Sharks) being the ninth defenseman in NHL history to record 30 goals in a season and Connor McDavid (Oilers) as the only NHL player to hit 100 points this season?
Gaudreau wraparound goal against the Pens was better than all of these. McDavid had some nice ones too.
Maybe because none of their goals were good enough to replace one of these?
Radulov is gotta be one of the smoothest players in the League. Nice goal!
Panik #8? Seriously?
I was at the game during the Matthews goal
