Here's something you probably never saw or heard about in the west. This is Putin answering questions regarding ISIS from a US journalist at the Valdai International Discussion Club in late 2014.

Say what you want about Putin... when he's right, he's right.

its funny for him to blame the US for imperialism, when russia always was a mega agressive country like germany :D he tells them to stop imperialistic tendencies but himself just breaks international law by invading an european country ,crimea was ukrainian territory . and then talking about mercenaries in syria, what about the ones he sends over the border to fight in ukraine vs the government. you have to understand one thing: if one side is always portrayed as the bad one,and he himself never does anything wrong, its PROPAGANDA. to all "putin-friends",pls understand that

Bloody lier. Opposition to Asad is not ISIS, reason behind ISIS and situation in Syria is Asad and his support by Putin. Asad is killing his own people, there is no way world should just be ok with that, and there is no way supporting that bastard should not be punoshed.

If anyone doesn't think that the colossal ignorance and arrogance of the US invasions of Iraq did not make fertile ground for ISIS then you are not in possession of the facts. And you probably get your news from that Conservative, God, Guns & Country Echo Chamber called FOX News.

The US didn't understand the political and cultural situation on the ground and the result was a religious and ethnic blood bath.

Paul Bremmer, George Bush, Dick Cheny and Don Rumsfeld should all be branded war criminals. Their actions should be listed in history with everlasting shame.

Putin is correct in that we should look at our own nation prior to telling other nations how to handle their business.

Now don't get me wrong here, Putin is a thug and probably a financial criminal along with all his billionaire cronies back in Mother Russia. But he is also a highly intelligent man. More than can be said about G.W.Bush.

Typical Putin horseshit + RT is nothing more than a propaganda arm for Putin's government.  ISIS has existed long before the War on Terror even began.  "ISIS" = a name to describe an ideological dogma which has always existed within the broader scope of radical Islam.  The Syrian civil war merely gave ISIS a chance to solidify itself when the central government forces broke down. Assad - like his father before him - is a butcher who has been subjugating his people for a long time.  Unlike his father who likewise suffered from a rebellion - he as a result of the Arab Spring has seen it grow beyond the limited scope which occurred under his father's regime.  So long as Assad remains in Syria - the rebellion will continue.  The Russians, Iranians, and Syrian forces have been concentrating on destroying the opposition forces such as the Free Syrian Army because absent them - there is no one to assume control of the government after Assad is pushed out - and Russia and Iran very much want Assad to stay right were he is as a vassal to them.  As to ISIS - their caliphate is basically over now save for mopping up in some areas.  They will simply revert to what existed before - small cells here and there under no central authority calling themselves difference names.

Yes. We created ISIS, we ruined their lands, we blamed it all on them, we killed their families, and we turn them into the enemies. Of course they want to destroy us like we destroyed them. Our country is corrupt and we're doing absolutely nothing to solve these problems we're raising in other countries and our own. We can't live in total oblivion forever and one day the tables will turn and it'll be chaotic.

If you have been paying attention it's like well no duh.... it's been so blatant it's even been on major news networks with them showing US training Middle Eastern forces. Not to mention one of the first big things they did was kill the previous military members of Iraq which was created by Bush. And they were able to kill the military after they told them to turn in their weapons sound familiar? And now we have the so-called "big deal" that we created an funded.

But then again I could show you the documents that proves the whole plan was to invade and destroyed five countries and you still won't believe it... does anybody else realize that everything in the last 20 years has been a setup? So what's next in the plan? maybe a false flag that would make 911 look like child's play. Then again maybe I have lost it....

He is insightful and pragmatic. His dead reckoning in asking the U.S. to quit trying to use pressure tactics and imperialistic methods as if they have to "win" at everything. Why do we need 11 aircraft carriers at all times? The tonnage of our navy warships is over 500% greater than all other navies combined. What about just 5-6 vs. 11. Then use that money to give citizens decent healthcare. If you look at the other navies they focus on building warships that defend their coastlines and nearby coastal waters. Not us, we have a need to project offensive power all over the world. Putin is trying to put out fires in the Middle East because they are real threats to Russia. Russia's southerly obrders are several hundred miles north of the Middle east. Do you think the US would be on standby if this was happening in Mexico or Panama, not Syria. Use less and take not. Respect Humanity. Seems that is too steep of hill for America in 21st century. I am an American and it is just sad. Our national IQ appears to be in rapid decline.

The problem is America has its notion of ALWAYS being the nice guy. Secretly I know we aren't since we play many cards under the table but we always want to put a smile on our face when we do something. Russia however isn't afraid of being an asshole upfront if it requires. That is a key difference. The USA tries to do something "helpful" whilst pushing for something in our own interest and it ends up backfiring on us. Russia DOES something and doesn't PRETEND to be nice.

  • Jan Vanhof
    Jan Vanhof 15 days ago

To see the truth you need to look at the whole story.
Remember it all started with rather peaceful protests of the civilians against their government in Syria, Libya and the Sunni part of Iraq.(the countries named in the video)
After some time their governments started to shoot on the protesters and use military force. = the real cause
This is not new, nor remarkably for example the American revolution started in a similar way after the Boston massacre in 1770.(5 civilian deaths)
But it shows that for a leader this way of action is rather tricky.(Sometimes it works)

What is the right conclusion of this video is that "no boots on the ground" means giving your weapons to people you cannot really trust. And in a fact is a failure.
