Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed “The Colbert Report,” which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one third of the time. Good luck, Bill!"

So... Colbert created a character by himself, and the corporation owns it? So the corporation forced Stephen Colbert, aka the one who created the character, not to use that character? What the actual fuck? How can a character that a comedian plays be an "intellectual property"? And even if it was an intellectual property belonging to someone, it'd be Stephen who should own it. Why in the name of fuck is wrong with these people.... Fuck capitalism.

Jesus, I'm getting tired of seeing people talk about third party candidates in the comments. IT WILL NEVER FUCKING HAPPEN. We live in a two party system, we've lived in a two party system for centuries now. I acknowledge the winner-take-all election system is broken but its the system we use. Until a new election system is implemented (it already is in some parts of the country) advocating third party candidates is a waste of your time.

Fun fact: The song 'Happy Birthday to You' is still considered copyrighted... So every time you publicly sing it or have any event using it where you make money you are supposed to write a check to Warner Music. This, despite that the person who originally copyrighted it in the 1930s wasn't even its author, and copyrights are supposed to expire after a limited number of years.
Just so you know: if you are an inventor, engineer, scientist working for a corporation, NONE of your ideas are owned by you. Corporations may even lay claim on ideas that you never used corporation sources for, nor implemented, nor have anything to do with anything the corporation is about, but which you came up with while working for that corporation!

So...just to clarify: after this election we (that is the people, the government, the corporations, AND the media) need to rethink what we value as a leader of a nation, and try to focus on those *good* qualities when trying to find candidates.

Personally, I don't want major party candidates; which means I don't want the primaries. I'd prefer we have the general election where anyone can come in, and everyone has a fair chance to appeal to the voters. Because the primaries reinforce the two-party system and stunts the growth of democracy.

ALSO, if a candidate starts trash talking, they are immediately, no arguments or apologies, disqualified from running for president regardless how it affects ratings on TV or the poll. because this should not have been encouraged to begin with.

Well, now he lives with Jon Stewart in his cabin. Either way, why would he want to come back? His cousin shall be his successor as "CEO Protector of the American People".

"CEO Protector" is a pun on "Lord Protector". Since, like, I'm sure only 2 people got that at most.

Now that Clinton has locked down the endorsements of pretty much every living major American war criminal - Kissinger, Negroponte, Cheney, Kagan, the list goes on - it is incumbent upon all of us, between now and September 15th, to simply scream Jill Stein's name into the phone if contacted by a polling company - she's got to get to 15% in the polls to get in the debates. Even if you are a hardcore Trumpist who wants to "split the left" - though lol at HRC being "left" - just do it to get her in the debates so Jill can go where angelheaded Bernard feared to tread and truly humiliate Clinton.

I would love nothing more than to punch this zionist shill piece of shit in the face until his skull crumbles to bits and his face literally falls apart in pieces on the sidewalk. FUCK THIS KIKE SHILL AND HIS JEW MASTERS.
Wikileaks now has shown the world documents that Hillary personally wrote that explained how the Obama administration armed ISIL and destabilized Libya for Israel. Is this zionist shill Colbert telling the American people about that?
How about the destruction of Europe at the hands of almost an entire cabal of jews that run the European Union and are trying to force Europe into self-genocide by zionist jewish muslim invasion? Where is Colbert on that one?
Little faggott jew ass licker pretending to be relevant. By the way, love how the ABC jew censored Trump when he openly told the truth about how Hillary and Obama armed and basically expanded ISIS and ISIL throughout the Middle East.
Colbert can go fuck himself straight to Tel Aviv before the day of the rope catches up with his pathetic plump fat belly ass.

Our country has not progressed at all with our elected leaders. The system remains corrupt and protects its power. I hate Hillary for all of her her lies, war mongering, nation meddling, money grubbing, and flip flopping. I hate Trump for his ego, his hate spewing rhetoric, and obvious disconnect with with world relations. So what am I left with? I can vote GREEN PARTY, but they will never let a true progressive win we saw that with Bernie. I do not feel like a free American anymore and we all feel the same left and right. The system better watch out, people are starting to get fed up!

  • John Dunlap
    John Dunlap Year ago

False. The lesser of two evils is the greatest lie ever perpetrated against the American voter. There is always another option. Write someone's name in. Sure, they may not win but it's not like someone you believe in is going to be elected no matter what you do so you really have nothing to lose. So long as we continue to vote against things which we do not believe in, as opposed to voting for things that we do believe in, then we will never have the option of voting for things that we do believe in. That's the only way that democracy works.
