The constituents aren't supporting him, but pro-Israel billionaires are donating to Cotton. There's already a Tom Cotton for President Facebook page and there have been efforts in Arkansas to change state law to make it easier for him to pursue the presidency and seek re-election to his Senate seat simultaneously in 2020. Changing the LAW so he can run for two different jobs simultaneously. People are Pissed Off.

Let me try and put all this in a nutshell for you.  Republicans have spit upon their constituents for many, many years.  But, it's different, they're trying TO KILL THEM!!!!!  Got it?   And that accounts for the anger, which, by the way, will only get much, much worse should the GOP actually repeal the ACA.  I believe it would be the political death of the Party so, in a way I am pulling for it to happen.  GOP burns their Party down, then in 2020 the Democrats win huge and go all the way with Single Payer Health Care and they end this ridiculous conversation once and for all.  This is actually what happened in Australia.  It happened 50 some years ago, but we are, perhaps, following in the same path.

They keep yelling and yelling and don't let him give his answers. On healthcare they just ask questions and scream until he just moves on. There are good reasons for ADA to be removed. There are also other problems with removing it. ADA gave people public programs that are hard to remove. Some should be removed and some should stay. You don't get to hear his answer explained because so many people are screaming.

Here's the text of an email being circulated to get activitists out to these townhall meetings :

    Dear MoveOn member,

Next week is the first congressional recess of Donald Trump’s presidency—and for many of us, it will be the first opportunity to speak directly with our members of Congress.

That’s why MoveOn, Daily Kos, Indivisible, and other groups across the progressive movement are launching a huge effort called The Resistance Recess. Together, we will make sure that members of Congress and the media hear that Americans won't tolerate the Trump Republican agenda, including attacks on our health care.

    Here’s how it will work:

We will show up at our elected officials’ events, town halls, and other public appearances to demand answers to the questions that we, their constituents, deserve to have answered—from whether our members of Congress will pledge to protect and improve our health care (instead of stripping it from millions of Americans) to how they will stop the unconstitutional actions of the White House. We will make it clear to Republicans that the Trump administration’s dangerous policies are completely unacceptable—and that we won't let these attacks on health care, our communities, and our democracy occur unanswered. If Republicans put themselves on the wrong side of history, we will hold them accountable. We will make it clear to Democrats that progressives demand full-on resistance to Trump's agenda. That means fighting for an immediate, independent investigation into Trump's ties to Russia, rejecting his Supreme Court nominee, working to overturn his racist and xenophobic attacks on immigrants, and using every available tool to block his toxic agenda that would bankrupt our nation and divide our communities for the benefit of billionaires and corporations. Although some Democrats are starting to stand up, we need all Democrats to catch up to the resistance in the streets and do their part in this unprecedented moment. And if lawmakers refuse to hold public events for their constituents, we will hold our own. Some lawmakers are trying to wiggle out of holding town halls or other public appearances. When that happens, we will hold "constituent town halls" to highlight to the public and the media the lawmakers who won't even meet with their constituents.

We need you next week! But according to our records, there isn't a Resistance Recess meeting close to you yet. Can you post an event, so we can invite other constituents in your area? Here's how:

First, double-check to see if there's an event near you. (It's possible that event has just been added, or that we don't have your full address.) Click here now to see if there's a local Resistance Recess event targeting your member of Congress.

If you don't see anything posted, call your representative's and/or senators' district and D.C. offices—and see if they are planning on holding a public town hall or office hours.

If YES, they say that they are holding a town hall or office hours, submit the details here, and we will invite nearby MoveOn members who are constituents to join you there.

If you discover that NO, your members of Congress are not hosting a town hall within a reasonable distance from you, you can host a constituent town hall—an event that constituents hold to have their voices heard and highlight their lawmakers' lack of a formal town hall. A constituent town hall is a great way to get media attention and highlight that your lawmaker is avoiding constituents during the congressional recess! Here's how to host one: Find a location—like a library, event space, or even outside a member of Congress’ district office—and pick a time and date. Invite your member of Congress. Click here to post your event on, and MoveOn and partner groups will invite fellow constituents. Put together an agenda and let the media know. Check out our materials page for all the guides and information you need to plan an event. Have an awesome event!

Ready to post a Resistance Recess event? Click here to post the details, and we'll recruit other constituents to join you!

Since the election, we've seen a beautiful and powerful surge of grassroots energy. Every week, we've seen rallies across the country pushing back on Trump's nominees and the Republican agenda, demanding that Democrats show spine, and defending frontline communities.

We know that our efforts are working. Democrats have begun to stand up, working to block the members of Trump's #SwampCabinet. Republicans have started to abandon their own plans to take away health care from tens of millions of Americans. And now officials in both parties are recognizing the dangerous and potentially unconstitutional actions of Trump and his team with regards to national security.

But we need to keep the pressure on. Next week's recess is our biggest opportunity yet to make sure that Republicans who side with Trump are held accountable and that Democrats understand that using every single tool at their disposal to block Trump’s toxic agenda is not just justified, but absolutely necessary for our democracy—and our most cherished values—to survive the Trump era.

We hope you'll host (or attend) a Resistance Recess event. Click here to get started.

    Thanks for all you do.

—Katharine, Gabriela, Manny, Victoria, and the rest of the team

P.S. This Sunday, MoveOn, Indivisible, The Working Families Party, People's Action, and The Center for Popular Democracy will host a Ready to Resist Emergency Conference Call. Click here to RSVP for it.

What a circus. This is exactly why the political process is such a disaster. Total lack of respect and civility. This was like a first grade recess dispute. Shame on this audience and their behavior. What an embarrassment to Arkansas and to America. And that is to say nothing of the content of the discussion which was almost more embarrassing than the juvenile conduct (if such a thing can be imagined). The poor little boy at the end will have to live his whole life being a planted stooge for someone else asking a question that was completely without basis in fact.

A lot of people here are praising Katie. What a civic disaster. She apparently doesn't understand basic civics. A Senator, by himself or herself, cannot guarantee anything. Katie should know this if she got past sixth grade. He or she can only work in the legislative process. He said he would. She is rude, uncivil, and lacks basic civil decency.

Remember, no one knows that Katie would be dead without the ACA. How do you know she isn't making that up? I don't know one way or the other. And no one knows what will happen next. What we do know is that the ACA has caused costs to skyrocket to unaffordable levels. One lady said she was paying $29 for her husband and $39 for herself. That may be true, but the rest of us are paying thousands for her. We don't fully know how to solve the healthcare issue. What we do know is that the ACA is not the way.

I am embarrassed to be a part of the same country as these people in Arkansas. I am embarrassed for them and for their children and parents who had to watch this nonsense and will forever be associated with it.

31:00 An equal and fair question to ask of this young woman on her death-bed; 'how did Obamacare ENSURE that, if they choose, other patients on their death-beds could keep their doctor and keep their plan?' Just as many persons, if not more, have been negatively effected by premium and deductible increases while getting less coverage, as others have been positively effected with essentially free health care that the negatively effected are paying for.

At the core of liberalism is the spoiled child — miserable, as all spoiled children are, unsatisfied, demanding, ill-disciplined, despotic and useless. Liberalism is a philosophy of sniveling brats.

The champions of communism, socialism and fascism call themselves progressives, but they recommend a system which is characterized by rigid observance of routine and by a resistance to every kind of improvement. They call themselves liberals, but they are intent upon abolishing liberty for anyone not pledged to the cult Liberalism. They call themselves Democrats, yet they yearn for a dictatorship. They call themselves revolutionaries, but they want to make the government omnipotent in every way imaginable.. They promise the blessings of the Garden of Eden but will only result in more unsustainable debt that will eventually enslave our progeny. They plan to transform the world into a gigantic post office. Every man but one a subordinate clerk in a giant bureau. Modern ctrl-left Progressive Liberalism is a serious mental disorder.

Here are some numbers libtards: Trump 60.6 percent-HRC 33.7 percent. Both US Senators are Republicans. As are all of Arkansas's members of the House of Representatives. The state senate is 24 Republicans to 11 Democrats. The Arkansas State HOR is 76 Republicans to 24 Democrats. The issues have been weighed, measured and the Democrats got wrecked.
"But, but. but...Obamacare saved my life." Yes and ruined the lives, livelihoods and healthcare of countless more. The law helps a few by intentionally hurting many others. It is dead.

senator cotton has shown time and time again that he does not work for the constituents of Arkansas. He works for the people that financed his election, i.e. the Koch Brothers, and for Mitch McConnell. Normal citizens can not run for Congress without the backing of special interests groups, lobbyists, and Democratic and Republican party power brokers. Bernie Sanders was a victim of this and the only reason Trump won was because the too many in the Republican party wanted to be President. It was splintered. Had the Republican party chosen one candidate instead of several candidates he would never made it out of the Republican primary.

After watching Tom Cottons town hall meeting I have definetly concluded that Tom Cotton wish washes around his answers of QUESTIONS put forth by his voters. Never giving a straight answer to any question.

Obamacare was a crime against legitimate government, passed by lies, trickery and deceit. If it was so popular why have its advocates gotten clobbered in election after election? Why? Why does the GOP control EVERYTHING? Sorry libtards, but elections have consequences, and packing town halls and engaging in street theater won't change a damned thing. Obamacare was an act of theft and will be killed with fire. It is over. Elections matter, not theater.

Well, that was embarrassing. Thanks Arkansas citizens. Making me proud with the fact you can't shut up long enough for a freaking answer. And you cheer for... questions? Are we really that strange? Gah. You won't ever get anywhere NOT listening to a person you may disagree with. Why did you go? To constantly yell? Don't go next time. PLEASE. Embarrassment.

Although I'm absolutely positive a ton were bused in and paid. So whatevs, I guess.

I didn't vote for Trump, so I don't care what you think is going to happen in 2018-20. Why is it unreasonable to listen when a question is asked? Why go? Tom Cotton isn't Trump. They're acting like children to the wrong person. Whether I agree or disagree I want to hear the persons answer. I find it pathetic that what I just said has to be articulated.

I've been a lifelong liberal and never been able to find out how to get paid for it. Anyone got a link to this famous George Soros money I can sign up for?
