We have reached the Rubicon and in order to cross it we have to use Single-Payer, or Medicare for All Healthcare to solve this problem. Everybody PAYS and Everybody GETS. Remove the Insurance Companies and the high cost of Drugs and there is money to be saved...

Just watched this bullshit, republicans are liars.Almost nothing they say can be taken at face value. They want us to doubt ourselves so that we distract ourselves, then they can get on with the business of destroying our way of life. How can they support legislation that they know is going to cause the deaths of thousands of people for lack of medical care? All for money? To be re-elected? This is wrong on so many levels it makes my head hurt just thinking about it.

Instead of fixing Obamacare; why don't we fix health care itself?

Seriously, there is not reason an MRI should cost $3,000 at one place and $4,500 at another?

Set regulations so that heath care providers can not profit off of the sick!

Over 250 years, the 'system' has become rigged to accommodate corruption without consequence to the point where it's uncertain that it even can be undone. as the rule of law and equal application of the law does not currently exist. We live in a Post Constitutional America.
BTW, The ' partnership of Govt and Corporation, by means of corruption, is the textbook definition of fascism.

    • oiltrdr
      oiltrdr 28 days ago

pretty familiar with how big pharma works the system. why the confidence in bureaucracies and politicians? Big Pharm,as a result of yuge 'contributions' , writes the legislation that politicians pass , political appointees in the bureaucracies are directed by their political sponsors to craft the rules. The system is the way it is because of that partnership. The current system is constructed to cost as much as possible, and deliver as little as possible.

    • Jeff Monson
      Jeff Monson 28 days ago

That is f*cking idiocy in it's finest for. Thank you for pointing out how stupid people in america are. Have you done any research on the Big Pharma mark up on things? Most likely not. Do you need any on going medical treatments? Justify your ignorance any way you want, but don't share it with the rest of us.

Why don't you share your ideas on how to begin to fix health care. Maybe you are right; remove the mark up on snow blowers. That should do it.

    • oiltrdr
      oiltrdr 28 days ago

seriously, how can the same snowblower be $129 at one store and $179 at another? have a govt regulation that sets the price of snow blowers.

The teacher's right. Republican governors who refused to expand medicaid have caused the most issues with Obamacare for the people their states and those are the states that are collapsing right now. My state, for example, is not collapsing and we have a Republican governor who actually does not support getting rid of the Medicaid expansion, which helps hundreds of thousands of people have insurance.

Jessi you are proceeding from a false assumption: that the GOP cares about Christians. They don't, once they get your vote then they only care about the medical, pharmaceutical and insurance lobbies. Now that they are in power, expect pre-existing conditions to come back and other coverage to go down. Remember during the Reagan Administration when healthcare was increasing in cost about 20% per year and the GOP was saying nothing about it? That's the way they like it. If you are in the middle or working class and you cast your vote for the GOP you are screwing yourself.

  • Dan Forster

Republicans don't have a clue how to deal with putting together a fair, decent healthcare system for all. Most of the voting base that elected Trump are going to suffer most from the callous, insensitive policies that are soon to be rolled out by the orange haired clown. The only way forward is for the Rep Party to negotiate with the Dems to salvage what they can from Obama Care. What's there is a start just work on improving it! Baby Jesus would agree I'm sure.

The goal is to take some of the money we give the government, (like we do anyway) and provide a healthier society and better medical techniques for us, our children, and every other being on this planet. The congresswoman proposes to put facts out for the public . When people pay the tax penalty for not purchasing insurance that money is used to spread around to cover the needy so the idea of them paying a penalty has nothing to do with them having insurance it's the financial remedy for those who are not joining the system . Republicans have their BS so coordinated every word out of every single mouth speaks about access and choice access means you can't afford it choice means you get crappy coverage let's get behind some people who care about the middle class vote Democratic

the rules have to be changed. If you are diagnosed with cancer then you should be able to be covered thru and thru, but if you are a hypochondriac calling the ambulance ever time you hiccup once a week, then you need to be in your own healthcare pool of hypochondriacs. Also when the insurance says no, we aren't paying $60K for this surgery already performed, then there needs to be a law that says the hospital can't turn around and charge the patient. This will keep costs and hospital fraud down.

He went to the website and that told us to go to Medicaid.  And insurance would be 250 per month on the website which he could not afford.  So if he could have gotten it he would have.  She is full of shit....and trying to make excuses for giving the rich more money.

in reality i believe we have duty to our fellow man . i believe a person looking at oblivion does not feel entitled to help i believe that person believes they might be entitled to ask for help from a society that can easily afford single payer health care ..but then im not a total cunt .

i hope you never have a child with cancer and find yourself, for whatever reason, unable to afford the care the child needs .but i guaranty your views would change if you did .and who knows you might find yourself less of a cunt for the experience.but then may be not cunt .

The fine goes to paying for emergency visits. It's not like the fine goes to nothing. It helps those who are not covered and have to goto the ER.
Republicans hated free loaders and now that ACA helps bring in funds that wouldn't normally be there and prevents possibly future costs but it's still not good enough.

Billions wasted in illegal wars for profit......hey but thats ok we all wave a flag at that right, ....but healthcare on our dime.. fuck that..., that's going to far......wow only in America

Most other developed nations have some taxpayer paid safety nets for their TAX PAYERS so the same people who pay into the system also benefit from the system at one point or another. Here in the USA its like we say fuck my neighbor and anyone else but ME, as long as I'M doing good, then you and others can rot, die, starve, etc. No one stops to think that one day they might need that same safety net, or that healthcare insurance program, no ...of course not because we all are masters of the universe and no way will we ever need any form of assistance...... with that mind set lets not have taxpayer funded police, fire dep, corps or engineers, a military, nasa, municipal water facilities all those are taxpayer funded services that service everyone in the community.......fucking mental disconnect here there should not be any extra fee to us to provide us healthcare insurance it should simple be there because we pay our taxes already which is supposed to fund public programs not millionaire salaries for congress.
