im actually quite happy with my life, but i still find amusement in people like you who know what im saying is true, but desperately want to live with their delusion, because otherwise it would jeopardize their life around them.
hey, i hope you will make it work and your kids dont fall into confusion and identity crisis because their parents thought "it doesnt matter", but dont be surprised when they do, like so many others. nature and its biology is a powerful thing, not something to be ignored. im sure it doesnt feel really good to know that everyone thinks and assumes that you are not a mother, but a baby sitter when you are with your "own" children.
dont call me hateful, call nature hateful if you want, but be conscious of the decisions you made and dont shift the blame.

I searched up Japanese dna to see if there would be any european in the mix even as small as 1.5%. Maybe just my ignorance but Japanese look different to me than their other asian counterparts mainly because of face size and structure. Almost look like a "european" face shape with the other "asian" features. To my surprise, nope. not a single white blood in him. Oh how diverse the world is. The same go for this specific tribe in southern africa. They look like Chinese dipped in chocolate but in reality, they dont have ties to china. Fascinating

Japanese genome has approximately 20% to 40% Korean genomic ingress, but due to politics and the nationalistic exigencies of Japanese researchers, lobbyists, and scientists (which makes them a highly tainted hacks), all the current DNA samplings of the Japanese populace are classified as being "Japanese". This fact is borne out in every Korean genetic breakdowns done by DNA diagnostic companies like 23andMe; whereby, ALL Koreans are deemed to have high percentages of "Japanese" heritage; when in fact, it should be the other way around, since the origin of these "shared" genetic profiles have their origins in Korea. Without the lies, denials and obfuscations by the Japanese Nationalists, the ingress of these Korean-Japanese genomes clearly have their beginnings in Korea and being migrated into the Japanese gene pool.
So, in fact, the graphic genomic representations for the Korean and Japanese samplings should be reversed, if science is to be objective and not be emotionally tainted as it stands now. Instead of the Korean genome showing "Japanese" influence, it should actually be the Japanese genomic samplings showing the DNA ingresses into their highly heterogenous genome. For example, a common Japanese sampling should read – 25% Korean, 25% Northeast Asian (including Siberian tribes & Manchuria), 25% Jomon type, 10% Chinese, 5% Mongol and 10% Austronesian and/or South Asian.
However, it is the blind desire of the Japanese Nationalists to want to deem the "Japanese" genome as being "pure", no matter the science, logic or history. It truly is a shame that these small-minded Japanese will go to such great lengths to deny their heterogenous genomic alchemy and especially, their Korean heritage.

Hmmm... interesting... I wonder if this is why other companies simply say "Asian" and don't attempt to break it down further, because it's simply too complicated and an impossible/misleading task? I don't think they want anyone to feel hurt or confused about who they are. I've reached out to the rep I've been in contact with to see if they have any formal answer or are working on something to address this question. Thanks for bringing it up!

I've just gone over a hundred DNA databases for 23 & Me Korean customers, and they ALL have a range of 20% to 30% Japanese genome ingress. I kid you not. Notice how the husband took pride in the fact that he is 100% Asian, and more than 90% Japanese. Wife's like "god dammit" when she reads that's she's 99% European.

Self-loathing? Not trying to be a douche, just generally curious, I noticed a lot of Europeans want to feel ashamed of their heritage which is in stark contrast to any other group alive today.

    • Samuel115s
      Samuel115s 23 days ago

Benjamin Shultz actually it depends on the situation. if your a European minority living in another white country then you to might also feel a need to also say your proud based on being a minority to.

eg if a polish person was living in britain and said "I'm so proud to be polish" no one would say that's racist and people would probably encourage them just like they do to other minorities.

    • US Japan Fam
US Japan Fam 1 month ago

Since it came from a place of curiosity rather than douchebaggery, I will happily reply 😘 It's not self-loathing or anything, just was hoping for a crazy surprise, the "whomp whomp" was just cuz the results were completely as expected i.e. boooooooringgggggg. The results didn't confirm anything "good" or "bad" about me or my race, cuz i don't think there is justification for any such connection.

It's possible that possible traces of "shame" white people may have for their heritage or race comes out of being part of the "privileged" majority, the history and guilt of what our ancestors have done, what "our people" are still doing, the pressure to change things and make things better, and also the lack of connection to a smaller tight-knit longstanding culture or ethnicity. I feel all those things a bit, here and there, I assume it's pretty normal. Race, nationality, religion, etc - they're all very sensitive topics many people struggle with a little or a lot.

  • Figgy5119

The Spanish relative would explain that North Africa DNA. Spain was an Islamic caliphate for some time.
And anyone who has significant heritage from England is bound to have Scandinavian in them as well. Almost the entirety of England was conquered by Vikings, who were known to take Anglo Saxon wives.
I do find it weird that 23 and me put British Isles and Ireland together, as studies within the UK has shown those populations to be different. Irish and Scottish should probably be together (the native Scottish peoples kinda disappeared and were replaced by the Gaels, although arguably the populations could have mingled), and Wales, Manx, and Cornish would be the group of Britons, and then England would be the Anglo Saxons.
However, you could also argue that every region in the world would need to go down to small minutia like this...

+Jrom I have read a similar article a few years ago and I wasn't convinced. Especially if it isn't supported by the bigger scientists. Doesn't mean it's wrong, but nonetheless I lean towards the Africa theory cause it makes more sense.

      Jrom 1 month ago

"We're all originated from Africa". You do realize that's a theory which hasn't been proved, right? There's a lot of evidence to the contrary actually. Take this very recent link for example: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/2017/05/22/europe-birthplace-mankind-not-africa-scientists-find/

hmmm... i appreciate your comment. i never mentioned everyone being the same, i actually like the current approach of not encouraging "color blindness" because we should appreciate everyone's differences and what makes them unique. For me, the importance lies in believing we are all EQUAL, one as amazing and important and deserving of respect as the next, and all part of a more general human race. Now... when someone displays a character or actions undeserving of such respect, that's a different story...

    • Jrom
      Jrom 1 month ago

"We are all one race" is a statement of political correctness, not a scientific observation. Inside the taxonomic classification of homo-sapien is a range of haplogroup classifications that differs between the races (which are called "ethic groups" in today's politically correct race denialist social-marxist culture). The different racial (or "ethnic") branches of the evolutionary and taxonomic tree shows our differences. For example, bonobos and chimpanzees are classified as two completely different species, yet only show a difference of 0.1-0.4% in their DNA—depending on which alleles we are looking at—while the difference of copy number variation in the DNA between European and African homo-sapiens is 0.4%, which should classify Africans and Europeans as separate species (or at least sub-species), but modern social-marxist political correctness makes us too afraid to do so. The fact that it makes you feel good to think ‘we all all the same’ is irrelevant to the facts of our biology.?

This is very interesting as I'm considering doing this. My maternal family line is well documented, Scot/Irish to 1600. But I have wondered about the paternal Welsh side. During the middle ages and before Vikings raided the Irish coast for slaves and plunder and even earlier, the Celts migrated over the Russian Steppes to get to the now Irish, Welsh, Scottish homes. So it could be interesting in that way.

Genetics are super interesting and rather random at times. For example if you have siblings their percentages might be different. Like their part of the Southern European or Scandinavian might be bigger, even if they are your full sibling.
I'm mixed race and have 4 siblings. I'd love to do an ancestry test for all of use to see what's what. :D

    • Nora O
      Nora O 3 months ago

      Exactly.
Genetics are complicated. Like there are certain traits that are more prevalent with certain races. Then there are dominant and recessive genes. Like ones features are based on either having a dominant gene deciding it or doubled of the recessive one and no dominant, But then you can have recessive genes dormant and if your partner has the same, your kids might get them. It's super complicated and I'm not sure I got it right. Hahhahaha.

    • US Japan Fam
US Japan Fam 3 months ago

Exactly!! It would be really interesting to compare yours against your siblings and see if the percentages match up to what you guys see, like if any have stronger traits of one race over another. For example, 2 of my 3 kids look a teeny tiny bit more Asian than the 3rd, I wonder if the 3rd somehow got a bit less Japanese or if that's even how it works? So interesting!

😂 You have it so right! That's why I chose a japanese man (5th generation from Hawaii) who only speaks English. Who isn't into Japanese entertainment OR culture. In fact he dislikes asians. So if I did wish I were asian he'd be a poor choice, but way to jump to conclusions! 🖒

I am in love with our family & adore seeing other interracial couples like us. Sorry you think that dating outside of your race means you want to be that race.

Great report here! I'm a mixed female born to a black mom and white dad. I know bits and pieces about my European half, but don't have a clear picture of my black half. I've heard I had a great grandparent on my mom's half who was part Native American, but I'm not so sure. My mom was pretty dark so I probably have around 40% African ancestry or close to it. More than Maya Rudolph if I might add. LOL. As far as you having a little bit of North African and Middle Eastern DNA, there's a special, special story behind that. North Africa, from what I heard, was originally all black like Sub-Sahara Africa below, which the latter counts for about 80% of the continent. It wasn't until maybe the 8th or 9th century when the Berbers and Arabs started the slave trade thus enslaving thousands from North Africa, the Middle East and Southwestern Europe (Iberia peninsula). Thus, resulting in lots of mixing between the native North African people (the blacks), Arabs and Europeans. It's also said that many people in Spain and Portugal can trace their roots to the Middle East because of this. I'm not saying you may have black ancestry because of this. DNA test kits only go back 1,000 years. However, I'm writing all of this to give you a little bit of history here.

    • BrightWarmWater
      BrightWarmWater 28 days ago

WTF... Don't abuse this lovely couple, and you can't say korean and japanese hate each other because it's not true, though there's some people like "you" said, and I just feel he looked losing a word to explain easily for her about the history between Korea and Japan, and why he already expected he has some korean ancestry. That is quite complicated for others. Maybe he just wasn't aware of full details of that.

Korean and japanese are really close neighbors to share many things. Korean influence is present in japanese genes and heriatages. Japanese nationalists would deny it though. It's known to people who knows things to know. But there's nothing to do with him so don't pull his family to the mess.

Kimo The Beatmaker you must be uneducated or you don't have any reading comprehension skills.. I said colleagues who are researchers at Harvard..

    • Otto Moon
      Otto Moon 1 month ago

Yes, millions of Koreans are very confused.

    • US Japan Fam
US Japan Fam 1 month ago

it might be something whereas DNA strand XYZ is seen in 99% of japanese people and much more rarely in other populations, so it's classified as "Japanese", though seeing it in another population doesn't necessarily mean they are Japanese? I'm really not very clear on how all of this works, it's quite confusing, Japanese / Chinese / Korean probably share so much genetically I think DNA ancestry results can't be all that accurate, take it all with a grain of salt?

    • Otto Moon
      Otto Moon 1 month ago

Mea Culpa! It turns out that much of Japanese DNA sampling is Korean in origin. It turns out that up to 40% of Japanese DNA comes from Southwest Korea via Baekjae and Gaya in the past, but due to politics (the scientists who classify the samplings include Japan, but NOT Korea. And, since Japanese researchers and historians are often Nationalists who seek to purge the Korean influences on Japan), is classified as Japanese. Hence, Korean genomic profiles will always show between 20 - 40% as Japanese, when clearly they are not. On the other hand, Japanese descended from ancient Korean city-states will always show up as being Japanese.
You actually have Korean DNA from a sample NOT classified as Japanese, which means you have a connection with modern Koreans that have not been politically classified as Japanese. Sorry brother.

I've done ancestry & finding it difficult to know when some of the various areas would've come from as I have Native American and North African in me but am half British & half South African?
