Do you still use wind generators ? and will the hail destroy your solar panels ?
I learned a long time ago that the sun is much more reliable than the wind out here. Most people don't realize that wind turbines need at least 15 mph winds to produce usable electricity for charging batteries. It is rare that we get that wind speed on a consistent basis but the sun shines 350 days per year. So far we have only had pea sized hail out here (and only 4 times in 9 years) which is not a problem...baseball size would definitely be a problem.
Tornadoes don't really happen out here.
Hows the leg healed up?
+TheFieldLab The ankles are tough to heal. I find 100% unprocessed milk and butter helpful for my old carcass.
Pretty good...but my ankle is a bit stiff still.
After seeing this clip I remembered In one Of Your interviews you were experimenting with water hole How did that turn out , ore did You abandoned that Idea >
Thanks for answering my question
The dam washed out after a big rain. For a brief period during the storm, I had a lake that was 20' deep, 75' wide and 200 yards long. Too expensive to try it again (and do it right). http://thefieldlab.blogspot.com/2011/09/i-thought-this-might-happen.html
My wife and I were down your way from va a few years back, right before the murder that happened, we loved that area, the heat felt so good we wanted to stay, we rode 3000 miles through tx and loved ever mile of it, except, Houston, Dallas, ect, we really loved Fort Davis area, and the Palo Duro canyon area, we will be back one day, and spend more that a week. when there i feel i was born there in that beautiful place.
Must have upset your cows in a big way! What did they do to protect themselves?
Ben just goes in his barn when the weather is bad.
Are Ben and Javier all right?
All the critters are fine.
Desert and rain, the best of the combinations
So far I have been lucky and never seen hail bigger than nickle sized...
