    How much running is too much, exactly? The video uses a marathon as an example, but isn't that a little on the extreme end? I run about 3.1 km each time, and do so 3 times a week (so about 9.3km or 5.8 miles a week) with a fair amount of consistency. Is this too much??

    I've trained for and run half marathons, Ironmans, and countless other muscular strength endurance events. I'll never get tired of hearing pack a day smokers and obese adults who never eat right or exercise tell me running is bad for you. To much of anything is bad for you but nothing of some things can be far worse, including common sense.

    This video neglects a few important points. 1 - you would always drink water and sports drinks during a marathon to prevent dehydration, electrolyte depletion and poor kidney function. 2 - you would always eat during the marathon to prevent yourself hitting the wall. 3 - straight after the marathon you'd put warm clothes on.

    What a load of BS - except for a few things - if you run a marathon without making too much effort, you won't hit any walls and you'll have fun all the way. It takes fitness and good pacing. Racing and running are different. In racing, you tend to give your 100%...so yeah it can get tough. But just the distance itself? No problem if you're fit enough. And keep your effort moderate.

    27 miles is not something I would ever do , I've done 5k, 10k and I run every day 3-5 miles, I don't see a point for a personal goal and feeling like total shit after wards, that and in addition to destroying my knee joints with all that concrete running.
