It might have been a setup and her body (except for her foot, to make it look like it was really her) could have been exchanged for some pre-cremated bodyparts, like, say, the skull of a child. The surrounding area might have been singed to make the scene appear more realistic, but the person doing this might not have realised that they only made things more and more suspicious.

The pills she had might have made her sleep so deeply that she didn't notice that her clothes had caught on fire. They said the pills were used for operations so they most have been pretty strong. Maybe she started smoking and the pills just like hit her.

But could it have been foul play? I just think it's a little odd that a fire so hot (3000 degrees) would not have spread to the bottom of the room as well. All of the fire was focused upwards. Could it have been some kind of torch? Like a propane torch?

    • CaptainFunnyHead
      CaptainFunnyHead 4 days ago

This is very intresting, but, fire can spread down, it would he impossible for you to propane torch someone past death and to cremation, without spreading fire, but the fire appears to have been propelled upward, due to the description of the hotel room. There was a lot of ash on the roof. But I believe it was foul play.

Actually, and sorry if this is a bit morbid, but you could never mistake the smell of burning humans to the smell of barbecue. I've been present at open air cremations, and the smell is unmistakeable; sickly sweet in a nauseating sort of way, and the smell of burning hair is very pungent.

  • Jorike Tuinstra
    Jorike Tuinstra 6 days ago

You should do some more research on the wick effect, which would explain almost everything. It could still go together with the spontanious combustion theory. With the wick effect the surroundings are often untouched, as with the limbs, which would explain her foot, she could have had her arms laying on her body or something, which would explain why her arms did burn. With spontanious combustion, the wick effect also takes place. So that is my guess anyway. She spontaneously combusted and then wick effect

My great great grandmother's leg exploded and she died, after an amputation.
My great aunt presumably caught herself on fire while she was cooking home alone, and when her husband got home, he found her sitting in the chair on the porch, burnt black and dead.

  • ItsKarlo PL
ItsKarlo PL 7 days ago +1

I think iv cracked it. Mary took some pills before smoking, at this point she has chemicals in her body. As shes smoking the chemicals emitting from the cigarette reacted with the chemical from the pill. Now if she weighed around a 170 pounds then that would mean there would be more energy to keep the heat going enough to burn her body, which is probably why the smell of burning lasted for 3hours. Now I believe that the body did not go on fire but instead actually was burning in the inside, turning her immune system to ashes and everything except bits of spine, a skull and her left leg. To explain the smoke and the immense heat on the door knob, i have no idea..

This has nothing to do with this case but, one of my best friends mom died when she was 9. She put her kids to bed then went and sat down on the couch with her husband and watched tv. Not long after she just fell over and died. Sort of like she passed out but she was dead. It was a super bizarre death. All her organs were tested and none of them had anything strange about them, they were all healthy. Also she wasn't on drugs and had no mental illness.

shane & ryan in the mystery of the sodder children; in order to be cremated, they'd have to be burning for 2-3 hours at 2,000 degress

    meanwhile..

shane & ryan in this episode; you'd have to be burning for 3-4 hours at 3,000 degrees.

Well my theory kind of goes with the combustion theory. She took the pills before she went to bed, and fat was found in the rug. What makes me wonder if the chemical reaction from the pills burned the fat tissue in her body causing the body to get overheated and ignite in flames.

It was a murder probably. The murderer probably lit her on fire some place else, brought her bones back, replaced her skull with a younger human victims skull, lit the bones back on fire so it would get noticed. But this is definitely an unlikely scenario, lol. I mean, did they even check that the skull was really hers?
