A physicist debunks the biggest myth about the Bermuda Triangle

  • Added:  3 months ago
  • In recent years, theories have popped up that a rush of methane bubbles from the seafloor could be what's causing ships to sink in the Bermuda Triangle. It might sound plausible at first, but bubble physicist Helen Czerski explains why this theory is completely false.

Read more about everyday physics in Czerski's book "Storm in a Tea Cup."

Answer to Bermuda Triangle: there is a pyramid which opens a Stargate portal that's why people say that they travelled long distances in short time they say this happened after they pass over the pyramid in the Bermuda Triangle

At the end she explains that the ships were built to not tilt over thus the methane bubbles can't sink the ship. So what does sink the ships then?

What if those bubbles didn't break into smaller bubbles. Then you are looking at water being displaced by the air which could easily lead to the ship sinking into the less dense area of water.

Here's another explanation: there are no more disappearances within the Bermuda Triangle than any other place in the world with a similar amount of traffic. There is nothing special about the region, only that in 1950, a journalist thought to write about it.

For those of you wondering about the plane's disappearing, the Bermuda Triangle supposedly is the place where true north and magnetic north meet. When tested, metals experiencing these forces were known to change shape and state. This could result in the aircraft being ripped apart in midair, perhaps some cases so extreme the debris is way too small to recognise it as anything.

My personal theory of he Bermuda Triangle also involves electromagnetism, as well as the supercontinent known as Pangea. One of the most generally accepted theories ever states that around 65 million years ago, an asteroid about 6 miles in diameter hit Earth, wiping out the dinosaurs. Due to the rough amount of time that plate tectonics constantly takes, the placement of the Gulf of Mexico would have been right around the place of the Bermuda Triangle (and they are both roughly the same size.) This could have caused a massive electromagnetic interference due to the high amounts of radiation, similar to how a nuclear bomb’s radiation also causes electromagnetic interference (except in this case, it’s about the power of over 1,000,000,000 individual nuclear bombs.) Evidence of a massive unearthly collision has been found in the city of Chicxulub in southern Mexico. Chicxulub is located at the VERY BOTTOM of the Gulf of Mexico, which highly supports my theory that the same asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs created the Gulf of Mexico. This impact also could have created the Bermuda Triangle due to the massive amount of radiation, leading to a large area containing much electromagnetic interference.

Does this mean that theoretically, the methane rising from the Bermuda Triangle can potentially cause aircrafts to crash, due to the fact that methane is lighter than air, and there is less pressure underneath the aircraft too keep it in flight, as well as more pressure above the aircraft which pushes it downwards?

It's truly confusing after the entry of methane bubbles in the mystery of Bermuda triangle. Logically sunken ship could be found on the seabed, ain't it? How about the missing planes? Assumption in term of logics do not work SOMETIMES unless it is true.

The only flaw to your cute little animation, is you are picturing some adorable "little" bubbles with a jet stream about the size of a manhole. However craters as big as 800 meters were recently discovered in Antarctica, so if something similar were present, the size of the bubbles would be a massive explosion that gored out holes right through the ship.

Well what would most likely give a ship buoyancy water or air? not too mention that this has been done as an experiment, which the results contradict your statement, by the time bubbles would reach the surface they would be as big as the ones in you coke can and would not provide any upward force on the water, only lowering its density, which would cause a fully loaded ship to sink.

  • Luck z

Helen Cherski, better get back to your bubble bath and leave the ocean alone. It has been known for centuries that if you fart in the bath the bubbles go Whooosh, but more study is required on killer farts! So many people died in the bath.
